Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-β)

Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-β) acts as a potent multifunctional cytokine involved in a diverse range of biological processes including muscle repair, embryogenesis, wound healing, connective tissue development, cell growth and differentiation, cell proliferation and apoptosis, and it contributes to the regulation of immune responses.

Natively, TGF-β is secreted in a latent form complexed with two other polypeptides, the latent TGF-β binding protein and the latency-associated peptide. The cytokine is then activated by the proteolytic cleavage of these two polypeptides, releasing the mature 112 amino acid TGF-β.

Immobazyme's recombinant TGF-β is produced in the E. Coli and purified using immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography.
